Fractures
Yu-Hsuan Wu

The earth tramped under the feet
bolsters
the split me
before it splits itself
holds me
from breaking into pieces

Never ignoring me
mother on my shoulder
dusts her face
looks at the rainy place faraway
as if fractures
would shame her

I am able to shoulder
far more coils
mother yet sneers:
when is
wholeness
not being twisted?
you move in and
pick me up?

I hope mother
would kiss my fractures
telling me
chance will come
plant toe-length grass
inside
if there is no fracture
life can never move toward a place faraway
