Picture
Carousel Horse, by Cindy Kennedy
On the Night Before My Suicide
Ebuka Evans

green bumpy mucus gathers like clouds beneath my throat
& I want to spit down the heaven piling up in my lungs

the streetlights are blue, watch how a car rushes into the ocean
with the speed of (black) light

i contain sweet things that falling took
i am a brink at the brink of retracting,
a fallen kite drawn to cloud of dust

can a lantern/sunscreen/black cloud
 cage fire?
