Peaceful Creatures
Juan Pablo Mobili
The scars keep on sinking slowly as pebbles
but haven’t disappeared. Yet, lately, first thing
in the morning I look for the two twin bunnies
that take their meals in my garden, oblivious
to my presence, mortality or strife. Funny
how the world goes on churning out cruelties
and I become more tender and watch over the twins.
I almost sing, while I look out for predators.
