recollections   crawling
across the sea
floor   weight
belt loosened lead
dropped balance point
hovering as a high-guard child
stutters walking coping
with earthly laws soil
air water fire   as fricatives
depend upon others
form simple thoughts
bathing alone
a nursery nursemaid

vague memories shuffle skyward
forests of unshaven
pulp   stubs of earrings sparkled
powdery dusting matting
tearful faces   rain cold
surprise dancing with me
your veil as you   wheeled
from the service
family as still as fox
stole creeping across
your thin wafer breast
