Spectrum Note 2: #you’reanation
S. T. Eleu
one way to understand
what life’s like
on the spectrum
and what it means
to struggle day in, day out
with communication
is to know
what life’s like
when you really have to pee
and what it means
to have a bladder full of beer
and only a half inning to make it back
from the stadium bathroom
where the only spot open
is a one-and-a-half-foot slot
in front of a trough
between two wobbly fans of the other team
currently unhappy with the trajectory of the game
and no matter how much
you try to convince yourself
you’re not pee shy
and no matter how much
you push, pump, or pray
and try to make the home team proud
nothing comes out
