Picture
Maria Golosnaya, The Portrait in Red
the coffee went cold hours ago and i don’t remember what year it is
Gabrielle Dufrene

it doesn’t particularly matter

there are cirrus clouds above the highway tonight
and the moon’s up there high and alone

and yesterday night at the party my photograph was taken and when he showed it to me

i was surprised to see
(but not in a bad way)
that’s what i look like

my heart has not hardened;
no, i will never let it do that.
but it’s grown older.
